
The Indonesian police has rescued 2186 people, who had been the victims of human trafficking, since June 5th through July 25th, 2023.

On Wednesday, The National Police unveiled the latest data related on human trafficking criminal cases in Indonesia. Head of Public Relations Department at The National Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said in a press conference on Wednesday. That human trafficking task force has rescued 2186 people, who had been the victims of human trafficking, since June 5th through July 25th, 2023.
Ahmad Ramadhan said during that period, the police had caught 855 suspects with various modus operandi to deceive the victims. The Indonesian migrant worker or household assistant, has been at the top cases, followed by ship crew with nine cases, and prostitute (PSK) with 216 cases, and child exploitation 54 cases.
He added, “based on analysis and evaluation results of human trafficking task force at Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) and Regional Police (Polda) from June 5th to July 25th, are as follows. There are 711 police reports. 2.186 human trafficking victims have been rescued. Suspects in human trafficking cases are 855 people.”
Ahmad Ramadhan said the task force was formed at The Order Of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to prevent human trafficking in Indonesia.
